Seasons and weather
There are four seasons in the year. Paraphrasing one well-known proverb, we can say that there are no bad seasons, there are all are equal and beautiful.
Every person has favorite season, when he gets pleasure of going for a walk. I think that summer is the most suitable season to do it; also summer is the best time for holidays and vacations. People enjoy bright summer days if they are in the country or at the seaside. They go bathing and swimming, fishing and boating. But it’s unbearable to stay in town on such hot and glaring days. Everybody droops and shambles and tries in hide in the shade. Summer is my favorite season, because I have a school holidays and I can do what I want at that time. For people, whatever there income is summer is a perfect time to have a rest and come back to their work and studies, healthy and full of vitality. I try to get away from the city noise and spent more time on the open air. When I think about summer, I always remember my happy days in the camps and resorts. Also I like to pick mushrooms and berries in the forest, go to garden with family. In summer at time the heat is almost unbearable, there are heavy thunder-stomes. We are used to believe that England summer is rather cool, but weather has changed greatly. Sometimes there are great floods, or on the other hand-drafts. The global warming is the reason, I think.
Summer is followed by autumn. It is time, then after good rest harvest time comes. A short spell of warm pleasant weather in autumn is called Indian summer. In this magic fortnight the air is fresh and full of autumn fragrance of ripe apples, plums and peaches and of course colored asters, chrysanthemums. It san be also called a "Golden autumn”, when the sky is cloudless, the trees around are golden; there is transparent and still warm. But gradually it gets colder and colder. The weather is so changeable; people have to wear raincoats and umbrellas if they don’t want to get wet through. The dead leaves cover the ground like a thick motley carpet the roads are slippery and wet, there are lots of puddles in the streets and again everyone is looking forward to winter days and much snow out-of -doors.
The rivers and lakes are frozen for. Everything is covered with snow; winter is beautiful in its own way. Isn’t wonder full to tramp down the country lanes on a frosty winter day. Everything is white with snow and it chances under your feet. The rime sparkles on the branches and iceless like precious diamonds hang from the roofs of the houses. On a fine winter day snow is falling in large flakes, covering the ground. Such days are other stay at Christmas, and they stay that the would celebrate the birth of Jesus, too. It’s a merry time for both children and grown-ups. They can go for a fight with snowballs or making snowman. I suppose, it is very pleasant while the frost lasts, and unpleasant time comes when the thaw begins. Car and buses go along streets splashing the mad on slush on the passers-by.
But spring is time of love, hope and happiness. Nature is awaking of life again. Trees are bursting in leafs, flowers are breaking into the blossom. Spring is busy for gardeners who have much to do in their orchards. The days are warm and everything full of life and joy.
It’s rather difficult to say what season is the best one, however dull and nasty or charming and marvelous the weather may be.
As for me, I always look forward to summer. I never tired of its long sunny days, warm rains with thunderstorm and hail, the buzz of mosquitoes and midges.
But they say, that
season can be completed with periods of person’s life.
The spring is infancy, the summer is youth, autumn is maturity and the winter
is old age. And each period is wonderful and amazing in its own way.
