Zelenodolsk

 

We are glad to see you at our  hospitable Zelenodolosk land. 

Located on the left bank of the river Volga it has the comfortable position. Zelenodolsk is called the western goats of the Tatarstan Republic. It borders on Chuvashiya and Marijskaya Republic. The landscape of the town is rich: it is surrounded by the thick and thin forests, there are a lot of deep and small lakes around it.

The history of the town  began from the small village called Gari, then it turned into the town.

The first settlements appeared 200 years ago. They were the fish men and the workers of the ship-building workshops. 1911-1913 are the years of the building of the large bridge across the Volga. It was a great event in the country and for the small workmen s settlement.

 In 1932   Zelenodolsk became the town. The main factories were built in 1935.

 In 1951 the first buses went in the straight and short streets of the town.

Now days it is a fast growing town with many-storied buildings, parks, gardens and squares.

The  population of Zelenodolosk is more than 100 000 people. It is a highly developed industrial centre. The factories and plants produce refrigerates, the warships for the Navy, the dry cargo ships, the details for the furniture, sweets and others things and goods. The products of the plants are famous all over the country and the world. Zelenodoloski region is proud of its quantitative and qualitative indices in agriculture. The square of the   arable lands is 80896 hectare. The farm «Maiski» grows the tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, capsicums, grapes, lemons, and even strawberries are grown during the year.

There is a developed system of education in   Zelenodolosk, which consists of pre-education (52), secondary education (56), vocational schools (6),  higher educational institutions (4). The children have an opportunity to attend the musical and art schools, the sport sections and school. The doors of the swimming-pools, children s centers and tourist clubs are opened before the small and big citizens. There is a splendid art gallery, the museum of folk art in our town, where you can see many fine exhibits.

In summer the town is full of greenery, there are a lot of   beautiful flowers and rare plants in the streets and parks of Zelenodolsk. The nature of our district is unique of the medicinal mineral springs. The people from the different regions have a chance to restore the health in the sanatoriums and preventive clinics in our region.

Today one out of 3 regularly go in for sports. We have all conditions for it two big stadiums, 4 sports club, the sections and the training halls.

Zelenodolski region has a  rich history and the motherland of many talented people, among them are sportsmen V.Kolotov, M. Domracheva, P.Safin, painters K.Vasiliev, A. Krylov, G. Sarandov, singer l. Dyadkova, composer R.Kalimullin, the actors U.Almmev, R. Sabirov, tatar writers K.Nasyri,  I. Tuktar and others.

Everybody who comes to our town can visit the island Sviyazhsk, where there are a lot of ancient   unique monuments of architecture of the time Ivan Groznyi, the fortress and the monastery.

Not far from Zelenodolsk among the forests of nature reserve and at the bank of the marvelous lake Raifa there is a Raifskii monastery, which was founded in 17 century. It makes a great impression on many tourists from the different places of the Russian Federation. It is worth visiting.

But our large treasure is the citizens of Zelenodolsk. They are talented, industrious, purposeful and hospitable. Our region is opened for collaboration.
